Twins in the NICU

Hope for the best but prepare for the worst. When my twins were about 10 months old and I was pregnant with my third child, I was asked to give a talk to a group of expectant twin moms. The subject I choose was the NICU. I had not prepared at all for the fact that my twins might need special care and I made several wrong decisions because of it.
My talk was met with stony silence, discomfort and fidgeting (beyond what you would expect from several twin moms with aching ribs and piles - the dads were doing it too !). It occurred to me later that the reason for this was that they just didn't want to know. They thought it would never happen to them - the same reason I had failed to research the subject at all before my twins were born ten weeks early.
Don't make the same mistake !
